Who is Mark Oxbrow?
Mark is a story maker, author and ghost writer. He’s also a digital producer, screenwriter, puppeteer, visual artist and games maker.
He’s performed at Glastonbury Festival and at international children’s festivals. Two of his short stories, ‘No Doves Come from Raven’s Eggs’ and ‘Frightful Things’ have been recommended by legendary editor Ellen Datlow as among the best horror short stories of the year.
Truant Pictures (an Animal Logic company) shortlisted Mark’s screenplay ‘She Awakens’ for their inaugural horror screenplay competition. Over twenty-five years ago, Mark founded the largest Halloween festival in Scotland.
Mark’s books feature ghost stories, witch goddesses, Arthurian legends, vampires, poison gardens, Norse gods, K-pop dancing, folk horror, medieval monsters and secret treasures.
Dracula Beyond Stoker
Vampires. I’ve always loved vampires. When I was little, I read and re-read the Usborne Guide to the Supernatural World – Vampires, Ghosts and Mysterious Powers – until its spine cracked and the pages fell out.
Over the last few years, Tucker Christine, an incredible publisher and editor, has been kind enough to include my series of vampire stories in his Rondo award-winning anthology series Dracula Beyond Stoker.
The Dracula Beyond Stoker journals are wonderful. They feature an incredible line up of world-class horror writers including four-time Bram Stoker Award-winning author Gwendolyn Kiste, bestselling creator of the StokerVerse Chris McAuley, and Horror Writers Association (HWA) Lifetime Achievement Award winner Jonathan Maberry. It’s bewildering and an honour to be published alongside them.
